1997/98 French GP Preview

by Markus Kruggel

After Oliver had his forth podium finish at Mexico, but failed again to win there, the fact sheet indicates that we could see total domination of round 7 of the championship by the two-time world champion.

If it weren't for the chicanes the circuit's characteristics would be similar to Mexico City. Being only slightly slower than the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Magny Cours will also offer slipstreaming on the long straight and outbraking before the hairpin. But the emphasis will be shifted towards more technical driving and from hat point of view, the French GP can serve as an ideal preparation for the 8th round of the championship, Silverstone.
